Grant Name: VSP: Sight for Students

Grant Deadline: 1/1/2999

Grant Description: Sight for Students is a VSP charity that provides free vision exams and glasses to low-income, uninsured children. The program operates nationally through a network of community partners who identify children in need and VSP network doctors who provide the eyecare services. Parents and guardians interested in seeking assistance through the Sight for Students program must work through VSP's established network of community partners. VSP does not issue gift certificates directly to the public. Eligibility: There are five basic qualifications a child must meet in order to receive a Sight for Students gift certificate: family income is no more than 200 percent of federal poverty level (see website for chart); child is not enrolled in Medicaid or other vision insurance; child is 18 years old or younger and has not graduated from high school; child or parent is a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant with a social security number; and child has not used the Sight for Students program during the past 12 months.

Grant Name: ASCD Outstanding Young Educator Award

Grant Description: While teachers and administrators both exhibit leadership qualities, ASCD recognizes that their responsibilities and paths of leadership may be fundamentally different. ASCD recommends that nominators consider the primary responsibility of the candidate as a guide and use their professional judgment when they select the Teacher or Administrator category for their candidate. The ASCD Outstanding Young Educator Award Winner receives A check for $10,000. An all-expenses paid trip to the ASCD Annual Conference in March for the winner and one companion, including registration, travel, hotel, and meals. Award presentation at the ASCD Annual Conference. Grant Name: American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Foundation Classroom Grants

Grant Deadline: 7/31/2012

Grant Description: This is a competitive grant program to educate students about math, science, technology, and engineering. The following guidelines must be adhered to in order to receive the AIAA Foundation Classroom Grant: 1. Teacher must be a current AIAA Educator Associate member or an AIAA Professional member actively engaged as a K-12 classroom educator prior to receiving the grant. 2. One grant per teacher will be considered under this program. An Educator Associate may apply for up to $200 of grant funding. (NOTE: THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO LEGO GRANTS). LEGO GRANTS: Grants will be made for up to $100 per team for participation in robotics competitions. The AIAA Foundation should be acknowledged as a team sponsor. A maximum one-time grant of up to $200 (two Educator Associate members) will be granted to each school for participation in a robotics competition. Grants will be considered on a quarterly basis in January, March, June, and September. Grants must be received one month prior to be considered for the upcoming cycle. For example, grant proposals to be evaluated in January must be received by AIAA by 30 November.

Grant Name: Best Buy Community Grants

Grant Description: Through the @15 Community Grants Program, Best Buy teams across the United States select non-profit organizations that provide positive experiences to help teens to excel in school, engage in their communities, and develop leadership skills. Grant Name: Fruit Tree 101 - Rolling Deadline

Grant Description: “Fruit Tree 101” is a program that brings fruit tree orchards to schoolyards so students can improve the quality of the air and water while creating a source of tasty snacks for decades to come. Not only do our schoolyard fruit orchards help the environment, but they give your teacher an excuse to hold class outside when it’s time for science lessons!
